Beka, Metro DC Postpartum Doula

Beka, Compassionate and Nurturing Certified Postpartum Doula & Lactation Counselor

My passion in life is nurturing and empowering new parents. I am a DONA trained Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Newborn Care Specialist. After graduating with a B.S. in Public Health Education, I served in Ethiopia as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. I also worked in childcare for 10+ years as a nanny and preschool teacher. I pride myself in being highly skilled in lactation support and emotional support. I am currently studying to become an IBCLC (highest level of lactation consultant).

I began my doula career in 2016 after experiencing my own difficult postpartum and breastfeeding journey. Over the past 8 years I have served 62 postpartum families!

My goal is to support each family with warmth, compassion, and humility. Above all, I honor your unique journey. I listen carefully as you express your values and goals, and I highly value your insights and preferences. I provide you with the tools you need to make informed decisions. I support what is best for you and your family. No judgement - just caring, compassionate support.

My motto is, "It's YOUR baby; I'm here to support YOUR way of parenting."
