Jeselene, Postpartum Doula & Breastfeeding Educator

My path into perinatal work began in India, where I lived and worked in rural villages supporting women’s health and maternal wellbeing. During this time, I was introduced to a daily yoga practice by my host mother—an experience that deepened my understanding of the body’s rhythms, breath, and the importance of steady support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. This foundation continues to inform my perinatal work today.

As a perinatal community worker and educator with a focus on postpartum care and lactation support, I offer grounded, compassionate care that centers recovery, nourishment, emotional wellbeing, and nervous system regulation. My approach honors the physical and emotional transitions after birth, supporting families as they adjust to life with a new baby and build confidence in their caregiving and feeding journeys.

I weave gentle movement, breath awareness, and body-based education into my postpartum support, helping parents reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and restore balance during the early weeks and months after birth. My care is adaptable, accessible, and responsive to each family’s unique needs.

My passion for perinatal wellness is deeply personal, shaped by two distinct birth experiences—one home birth and one hospital birth—and by my life as a mother of three daughters.

I hold a B.A. in Community Health & Biology and a Master of Public Health, and am currently pursuing a path to IBCLC certification. I integrate my academic background with holistic care, movement, and education to empower humans through every phase of life.

In addition to her perinatal community health work, I serve as Lead Teacher for Urban Yogic Wellness & Education’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, where I mentor future instructors in embodied care, mindfulness, and community-centered teaching.
