Benta Sims is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and her private practice is located in Falls Church, VA. Heather licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Virginia. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling. Emma Basch is a licensed clinical psychologist and writer. She maintains a private practice in Washington DC where she specializes in working with pregnant and postpartum women and their families. Robyn E. Brickel, MA, LMFT is the clinical director and lead therapist at Brickel and Associates, LLC in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, which she founded in 1999. Erin Peterson, PH.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Keith Miller, LICSW is the clinical director and owner of Keith Miller & Associates Counseling, in DuPont Circle and Bethesda. Dr. Shosh is a pioneer in the field. She is a survivor of two life-threatening postpartum depressions. She founded Postpartum Assistance for Mothers in 1987, and is a former president of Postpartum Support International. Dr. Shosh helped develop the official Postpartum Support International training curriculum for professionals which is now considered the gold standard in the field. She has helped over 19,000 women worldwide through individual consultations, support groups and wellness seminars. She earned three teaching credentials, two masters degrees, a Ph.D. and is licensed as a clinical psychologist. She works virtually, all over the USA.

Dr Kelly Kit is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with adolescents and adults. She takes a strength’s based approach to therapy, utilizing insight-based therapy along with cognitive-behavioral techniques to promote growth in clients. She specializes in using solution-focused, multicultural, attachment-based, and client-centered therapies. She especially enjoys working with professional women, mothers, college students, and diverse populations, including people of color and the LGBTQ community.

Joya was trained by Kim West – “The Sleep Lady” using her Gentle Sleep Coaching program. She brings her expertise as a Certified Doula and Certified Lactation Counselor when drafting personalized sleep plans to cater to each family’s specific needs. She works with families from pregnancy through 6 years of age to help children and families get more sleep.


Jessica Dodson of Starlight Sleep Coaching is a Gentle Sleep Coach based in Washington DC. She trained with and is certified by Kim West, aka ‘The Sleep Lady’, to work with families of children from birth to 5 years old to help them get the rest they need. Jessica’s focus is on understanding each family’s unique situation, goals, and parenting philosophy, and working with them to develop a plan that makes sense for them.

Postpartum Support Virginia offer support groups for mother’s who are finding the postpartum experience to be different than they had expected.


Run by postpartum doula Whitney, this group is designed to provide an intimate and comfortable setting so that everyone has a chance to express themselves and ask questions. Enrollment is limited to just 6 new moms. The group offers a variety of local experts as guest speakers. Snack provided each week and the series runs for 8 weeks. Lemon Tree Playgroup is in the Dupont neighborhood of Washington DC. 


This open and supportive group of moms navigating parenthood will help get your questions answered, provide space to offer tips to others, and create lasting friendships for you and your little one. You’ll also be welcomed into a virtual Mamas Circle of over 30 moms who have been a part of the in-person group for support between sessions. Group meets weekly. This group is a 6 week series in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington DC. 


P.A.C.E. offers support groups for new mothers as well as second time around moms. Groups are led by professional mental health educators trained in the fields of infant development, parenting skills, family relationships and group dynamics. There is a specific topic discussed each week. Some time is set aside so that members may share their experiences and discuss subjects of mutual concern.


Mamistad was born in 2006 in Falls Church VA to help first-time pregnant moms find each other. Your first pregnancy can be exciting and daunting at the same time. Having mom friends to share the joys, the fears, the nerves and the excitement of this once-in-a-lifetime experience can truly change everything. Mamistad pregnancy groups are formed by joining up to 12 moms who are due within 3 months of each other and have similar work plans after delivery.  We’ve now had over 2000 NOVA/DC moms join Mamistad during their first pregnancy. Childbirth education classes taught in many convenient locations in the DC metro area.  Classes are from 6:30-9:30 pm in the evenings or Saturday mornings. Megan Anderson has a doctorate in physical therapy and is also a registered yoga teacher. She balances these two elements to offer an integrative, total body approach. Megan offers home visits in the DC Metro area.


Dr. Pany Nazari has been a physical therapist close to 25 years. Aside from her proficiency in orthopedic issues, she has focused her career on women’s health for the past 14 years.  Treating moms before, during and after their delivery is her passion, as she believes those are the most fragile years of the woman’s health and wellness. She believes that each person is extremely unique, therefore every treatment should be suited to address their needs. She practices in McLean VA and has a direct access license.


Katie Bayer (PT) has been focusing on pregnancy, postpartum, pelvic floor for the last 3 years. Her focus is on manual work and functional strengthening. She treats a variety of issues ranging from C-section incision, pelvic floor, diastasis rectus, breathing mechanics, postures, and dysfunctional movement patterns- always with the goal to return to prior level of function and exercise. She is licensed in DC, MD, and VA and does home visits.


Sigri Reyes, PT, DPT is a pre/postnatal rehab and exercise specialist. She offers telehealth services which allows you to attend physical therapy follow up appointments from the comfort of your own home! Common problems she treats include diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, posture dysfunction, sciatica, low back pain, and pubic symphysis dysfunction to name a few. Her passion for fitness has led her to create customized exercise programs to ensure you are able to maintain a healthy pregnancy and lead to an easier postpartum recovery. Ohana wellness offer pregnancy and postpartum massage in their office space in Bethesda, MD, or in your home. They also offer infant massage classes where new parents can learn infant massage which socializing in a group setting with other new parents.


Old Town Massage Center, in Alexandria, VA was founded by Jette Hansen in 2001. They only employ experienced, Nationally Certified and state-licensed massage therapists. They offer, and are trained in, prenatal and postpartum massage along with many other techniques and styles. ​


Lunar Massage has a therapist, Marq Few, who has completed the Nurturing the Mother (TM) training to specialize in pregnancy and postpartum massage. Many women get prenatal massage for aches and swelling but postpartum massage can be hugely beneficial for recovering from birth. Compounding the body changes are sleep deprivation, breastfeeding, and carrying strain. Khyati Desai-Seltzer is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor through Infant Massage USA and through the International Association of Infant Massage. Infant Massage is an ancient practice of massaging your baby that leads to significant emotional, physical, physiological, and mental benefits.  Khyati offers instructional classes to parents and caregivers of infants 4 weeks to pre-crawling through private individual, group, or private group classes. Dr. Malgorzata Booth is a graduate from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is also well versed in adjunctive treatment modalities, such as gua sha, cupping, and moxibustion.


Tetsuhiro Ueno is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has strong interests in treatments for reproductive and gynecological conditions, insomnia, depression and internal diseases.
