About

I’m Banger (they/he), a spirited postpartum doula local to the northern Virginia area. I am committed to providing care for families of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures. I hold a judgment-free space and provide relevant resources to parent(s)/caregiver(s) as they navigate making important and personal choices that come along with growing a family.

I am often accompanied by my service dog, Harriet, a hypoallergenic (non-shedding) standard poodle. She is a loving and calm dog. However, I want each of my client’s to be comfortable, so it is the family’s choice as to whether Harriet accompanies me to their home or not. I am committed to providing accessible and equitable care, my priority is to support families as they build a healthy foundation for their newborn(s).

I believe that the parent-infant relationship is rooted in instinct and love, and I look forward to exploring how we can best nourish this relationship together.

Meet Harriet

A sweet, 3 year old, non-shedding, poodle dog. Harriet works with me to support me in being the best doula I can be! She and I are bonded, so I am grateful to have her with me when I can. When she accompanies me to my client’s homes, she is there for work, and not as a pet. Typically, she sits down a few feet away from me, and follows me when I move around the home. I will take her outside every 4 hours for about 5 minutes. While we are at work, Harriet is focused on me, and does not get distracted with pets or playtime.

She is a calm, clean, and quiet presence in the home. She and I both appreciate when client’s are willing to meet her, and we are happy to answer any questions you might have about what it’s like to work with a doula who has a service animal!
