About

I became invested in postpartum doula work while completing my undergraduate degree in Anthropology and focusing on sexual and reproductive health.

Through my research, I encountered staggering information on racial disparities in infant and maternal health. I also came to understand how doulas are working to fill in the gaps in birth care for queer families. I listened to the stories of so many people who wished they had had access to a professional whose primary purpose was to have their backs and to provide consistent, non-judgmental, compassionate care during the postpartum period.

Before training as a full-spectrum doula with Doula Trainings International (DTI), I was working as a peer counselor for a 24/7 mental health support hotline, co-writing and directing a play about reproductive justice, and nannying for several families with infants and young children. I came to intimately understand the need for logistical, emotional, and educational support during big life transitions — especially when welcoming a new baby to the family!

When I’m not working as a doula, I enjoy dancing, cooking, and spending as much time outside as possible. If you are looking for a doula who is gentle, empathetic, informed, dependable, and sunny, I might be a good fit for you.
