About

Nikki lived in the UK until she was 19 years old, where it is normal to have a home health visitor visit regularly postpartum to make sure you and baby are doing well. When she first arrived in the U.S. she was a full time nanny specializing in infant multiples. She saw many new parents go back to work at 12 weeks postpartum (or earlier!) and heard about their struggles in those early weeks; not having family in the area to help out, their partner having to go back to work after a week or two, struggles with breastfeeding, wondering how to take care of the house and chores while learning to care for their new baby or babies. She realized that there needed to be a profession for postpartum care here in America, and was pleasantly surprised to find that there already is – a Postpartum Doula! She was extremely excited to have found her calling; something she loves so much and feels so passionate about. It makes her so happy to be able to help families integrate their new baby into their lives and to instill confidence during a time that is often very exciting but quite scary. Nikki began as a Postpartum Doula and then decided to take additional training to become a Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Certified Gentle Sleep Coach.
